The Ridiculous Baking Company
One of my favorite things to do on a Sunday morning is to go to the Hollywood Farmers’ Market and get a pastry and coffee, before I score my veggies. Because of my sensitive tummy, this used to be more difficult… Until I stumbled upon The Ridiculous Baking Company, down on Spice Alley. They offer organic, vegan, soy free and some gluten free pastries that are, actually, RIDICULOUS-ly good.
I mean, come on. I thought I had to give up all of this deliciousness when I gave up everything else. Or, at least I thought I couldn’t get anything that actually looked AND tasted this good. Everything is truly moist when it needs to be and flaky when it should be. I think there is some voodoo going on for them to bake this magic.
So, one morning, I approached Adam of RBC (after I inhaled a Pain au Chocolat) to ask if I could write about his company. I felt the need to get the word out. I came back a few Sundays later and he graciously gifted me a muffin and two cheesecakes to try. Yeah, cheesecakes. My friend, Allie, and I sat down at the pop up picnic tables and unbuttoned the top button of our jeans to make room for the feast.
I’m going to be honest with you, I don’t remember what this muffin was… I ate it too fast. I think it was Cherry Almond, but I didn’t care. It was gluten free, DELICIOUS and I could eat it, so it went in my belly.
As you can see, we dove into the treats before I could get good pictures…
This Raspberry Cheesecake tasted almost like a sherbet, in a really good way.
“WHAT IS THAT?”- Miss Allie, in regards to this Chocolate Marble Cheesecake. I actually packed this one away so that I could selfishly eat it at home, in my pjs, during a Mindy Project marathon. It was my version of heaven.
And then there were none.
